The Cleveland metropolitan area is huge, and home to about 3 million people. There are expensive and inexpensive places to live. However, you do get a lot more for your money here without a doubt. Compared to other cities at the same price you will have a bigger apartment/house, eat at nicer restaurants, have extra money to shop, and go to more events like sports and concerts in Cleveland. That is the main reason why many people like Cleveland. I go to school in small college town in Ohio, and I think the cost of living for college students is higher here because the town is so small and away from places; college students are forced to pay whatever the restaurants/bookstores/landlords want. I feel like in Cleveland- because it is larger- there is more competition and prices are lower. My friend going to school in Cleveland has a much nicer apartment than I have, is around the corner from much nicer restaurants, and always has things to do. In addition, the universities in Cleveland have good relationships with businesses, so Cleveland college students and graduates often seem to have priority for a lot of good opportunities. I made a mistake not going to college in Cleveland.

Exclusive to college students in Cleveland you can use the public transit system free of charge (RTA), get free/discounted admission to museums, special deals on events at Playhouse Square or the Cleveland Orchestra. Most college students living off campus in Cleveland tend to live in Cleveland Heights or maybe Lakewood. There are beautiful historic apartment buildings, and beautiful old houses in these neighborhoods. They have very nice commercial districts within walking distance from residences. Coventry Village in Cleveland Heights is kind of like the city's college town area. It is very nice and a lot of fun. So you might want to consider looking at apartments online in Cleveland Heights, and checking out Coventry Village when you come in to town. I think you will be impressed.
